Each of us brings a unique upbringing and connection to our land, making our individual stories a tour in themselves, reflecting the complexities of Iraq and Kurdistan Iraq’s history.

Meet our team

Lanah Haddad

is an accomplished archaeologist who has studied and worked in the field of heritage across the MENA region, including Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, and Syria. She has several academic publications to her name and has been involved in international archaeological excavation and restoration projects. In addition to her professional work, Lanah has also led guided tours in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, drawing on her passion for the region’s rich history and cultural diversity to provide visitors with a nuanced and insightful understanding of the area. As a skilled storyteller, she has a talent for making each tour a memorable and immersive experience. Lanah is fluent in German, English, Kurdish, and Arabic, allowing her to provide tours in a variety of languages

Hani Hurmzi

has an epic beard that traces its roots back to ancient Mesopotamia. Originally from Kikruk and raised in Ainkawa-Erbil, he’s experienced in making homemade wine from grapes grown in the mountains of Shaqlawa. Guiding over 80 tours since our company started. As a multilingual talent fluent in Neo-Aramaic (Syriac), Kurdish, Arabic, and English, Hani has gained the trust of locals and can take you to places and open locked doors that others can’t. 

As a passionate hiker himself, Hani is familiar with the majority of Kurdistan’s hiking trails and has shared his love for the outdoors with countless travelers on and beyond. Don’t miss the chance to try his tea during hiking breaks; not every black tea in Iraq tastes the same. Besides being a friendly and fun companion, Hani is also a skilled drone pilot and can capture beautiful moments for you, if requested.

Blacky & Dog Hiking
For private tours with Hani, you’re welcome to bring your dog along. If you don’t have one but would love to hike alongside Hani’s fearless and brave little dog, Blacky, just ask! Blacky can join the adventure and even serve as a guardian against the evil eye.

is a professional mountaineer with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the Kurdistan Region. She can guide you through the wild terrain with ease. Following paths that have been crossed by generations of shepherds and their flocks, she will take you on a safe and enjoyable journey through the picturesque countryside. Meena offers special tours for young adventurers, carefully introducing children to the joys of hiking and fostering a deep connection with nature. Her thoughtful care ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

She is fluent in English and Kurdish (Bahdini & Sorani) and Persian.
