Barzan

The Barzan region has the only National Park of Iraq where wild animals and flora & fauna is protected from hunting and deforestation. This region is home of a large cave where numerous skeletons of Neandethals were found and investigation and excavations are ongoing. High up in the mountains is located a small old Christian village Bidyal with a large cross overseen by a unique view. The valley of Zoregvan far away from human settlements lets you escape to a fairytale-like environment. The tour will end at the beautiful Khanzad castle named after a legendary Kurdish princess who was ruling for several years over the Soran Emirate.
